Top Chef Scolarship Challenge
One of the best kept secrets in Lehigh is the Culinary Department at East Lee County HS. Working with Chef Arthur Phillips, we created the Top Chef Scholarship Challenge, giving away scholarships to the winners!
Culinary at its best
The challenge.
Students plan.
Chef Phillips takes the students through a planning scenario, preparing for the competition. The students must plan, budget and execute an appetizer, main course and dessert.
students compete.
In one evening, 3 student contestants compete for scholarships to further their education. They are given mystery ingredients and have a specific amount of time to prepare each dish. The pressure is intense and it is a very exciting process, watching each student as they prepare their dishes.
And the winner is.
A panel of judges from the community and school District will be chosen. They will judge each dish by it’s presentation, complexity and taste. The winner will receive a scholarship to the higher education facility of their choice.
